Job Description

The Software Engineer will work closely with researchers to produce high quality automated systems. These systems will work with very large data sets, integrate expert systems and machine learning techniques and participate in internal R&D (IRAD) associated with advanced machine learning techniques to solve cyber security and/or intelligence analysis problems.

Education & Length of Experience

Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate I

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related technical field of study.

Research Engineer/Scientist/Technologist/Associate II

  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related technical field of study and three (3) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of that degree,
  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related technical field of study and five (5) years of relevant full-time experience after completion of a Bachelor’s degree, or
  • A Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related technical field of study.

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • 0-5 years professional experience in the software engineering domain.
  • Knowledge of at least two of the following: Python, Java, C languages, R. 
  • An understanding of cyber security issues and/or intelligence analysis is also required. 
  • Candidate must possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Concurrent experience in cybersecurity and/or intelligence analysis domain is a plus.
  • Current, industry-recognized certifications (CISSP, GIAC) or the ability to become certified within one year of hire is a plus.
  • Experience with Machine Learning tools and techniques like Python, Tensorflow, Carre, etc., is a plus.
  • Experience with the Hadoop or Apache Spark ecosystem is a plus.
  • Active Top Secret clearance is a plus.

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Ability to obtain Top Secret Clearance upon hire
