This is an exciting time to be at Intel!  Come join Intels NAND Design Technology and Manufacturing (NDTM) Group as a Product Development Engineer and work on one of the most advanced 3DNAND and SSD technology portfolios in the world.   As a global leader in the semiconductor industry, Intel possesses many industry leading SSD technologies including the most capable Quadruple Level Cell QLC NAND Flash products. 

The NSG Manufacturing team is looking for a Software Engineer to participate in developing, deploying and sustaining operations planning systems that drive the optimization of manufacturing capital and planning in Folsom, California. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic planning processes and future of NSG. You will be part of a supportive team working in a demanding and fast-paced environment that values safety, integrity, quality, creativity, results and inclusion. In this role you will be developing applications for our long-range planning system and responsible for maintenance, and continuous improvement of the system.

On any given day you are likely to find yourself starting off by participating in a daily scrum meeting, followed by:
- Developing and maintaining software systems that incorporate optimization and visual analytics to solve complex global supply chain problems
- Working with data engineers and/or data analysts to procure and test data for input to planning systems, or mining for business insights
- Collaborating with operations research engineers or planning analysts to provide high quality decision support through automating business processes
- Developing and maintaining software documentation and user manuals

- Excellent system diagnostics and monitoring skills

- Experience planning, architecting, delivering, and owning solutions

- Experience working around browser quirks

The position is associated with the sale of the NAND business to SK Hynix aligning to Phase 2 of the transaction. Employees aligned to Phase 2 will continue to be employed by Intel developing NAND technology and components. Phase 2 of the transaction is expected to close in March 2025 at which time employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition employment to Solidigm, a stand-alone US subsidiary of SK Hynix headquartered in San Jose, California with offices world-wide. Solidigm is a leading global supplier of NAND flash memory solutions, led by Robert (Rob) B. Crooke as CEO, previously senior vice president and general manager of Intels Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group. Experience and Skills Required:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related fields

2+ years' experience in the following areas:

- Building full-stack web applications

- Excellent Linux kernel knowledge and thorough understanding of low-level systems and hardware
- Experience with modern PHP and JavaScript development, with frameworks such as Node.js/npm, Vue.js, react.js, etc...
- Excellent knowledge of HTML5 and working with the DOM
- Experience with creative and intuitive data visualization (eg, D3.js, ChartJS)
- Experience with web frameworks and cloud services
- Excellent knowledge of different API mechanisms such as REST and RPC/gRPC
- Experience in developing extensible APIs and highly maintainable services
- Experience with a variety of data storage solutions. Object vs Relational, SQL vs NoSQL, SQL, Oracle SQL, Microsoft SQL, Mongo DB, Cassandra, etc...
- Experience with Message Queues and Event Services (Kafka, RabbitMQ, MQTT, etc...)
- Development experience in large-scale data storage and processing
- Experience with factory systems, operations and analytics

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience integrating systems with unique protocols
- Experience with distributed computing, virtualization, and containerization using any of the following Docker, LXD, ContainerD, Podman, KVM, micro VM's, etc...
- Experience with Kubernetes/Open Nebula/VMWare, or related orchestration technologies
- Experience working with high availability systems. (Load Balancing Gateways, Failover Strategies, Redundant Architecture, etc...)
