Solutions Architect, Enterprise Architecture (Experienced)

The Network Design and Operations department is seeking a highly motivated individual with a solid understanding of network architectures, technologies, and communication protocols\. Your daily responsibilities will be oversight and development of our enterprise architectures which is flexible in meeting changing enterprise, security, and customer requirements\. You must be able to leverage your own knowledge and expertise, as well as that of your team members, to lead the analysis, design, validation, and integration of multiple business criteria to manage a comprehensive network architecture and roadmap\. You will also be required to support enterprise networking services including the routing, switching, and firewall technologies, as well as application\-specific security policies\. You must be able to perform as Sandias designated interface in many areas including: Network Architect for corporate, mission, and external business partners \(i\.e\. DOE/NNSA\), as well as Sandia Delegated Representative with select vendor partners\.


+ Bachelors degree in relevant discipline plus five or more years of experience, or equivalent:

- experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties of the job\.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a required DOE Q\-Clearance


+ Demonstrated ability to translate customer requirements into design criteria
+ Experience developing an enterprise system architecture
+ A minimum of 5 years of enterprise networking experience in any of the following:

- Data Center Networking
- Campus Networking
- Remote/Branch Networking
- Security control design and implementation
+ Demonstrated experience leading multi\-disciplinary teams
+ Ability to interpret new business requirements and propose suitable architecture changes
+ Experience with packet capture analyzers and performance monitoring
+ A minimum of 5 years of dual\-stack \(IPV4 and IPv6\) network implementation experience
+ Deep knowledge of network equipment \(Cisco, Arista, Tellabs, Extreme, Juniper, etc\.\)
+ Knowledge of Application Delivery Controllers \(ADC\), such as F5 BIG\-IP
+ Familiarity with automation tools and technologies such as Ansible
+ SDN Methodologies
+ Familiarity with software tools development
+ Ability to assess, recommend, and coordinate training needs
+ Ability to travel and represent SNL during vendor Executive and Technical Briefing conferences
+ Ability to work beyond normal business hours when needed
+ Demonstrated ability to mentor internal and external staff as needed

Network Design and Operations department delivers secure, consistent, and capable network infrastructures to ensure faster realization of business value to Sandia National Laboratories and its customers\. We manage all enterprise data networks, as well as customer\-focused stand\-alone LANs and enclaves\. We collaborate and integrate with a variety of organizations including the Corporate Computing Help Desk, the Customer Service Units, Facilities Management & Operations, Cyber Security Services & Technologies, Service Management & Monitoring, and the Information Solutions Center\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance\.
