ADP/Celergo is hiring a Sr. SQL Developer/Technical Architect with demonstrated experience in providing leadership, technology expertise in the development, integration, launch, scaling, and maintenance of new and existing products and solutions. Sound like you?

ADP/Celergo team is seeking a Sr. SQL Developer/Technical Architect to design, analyze, develop, troubleshoot and maintain SQL stored procedures, databases and related utilities within the Celergo software environment. The Sr. SQL Developer/Technical Architect will be responsible for the enhancement and refinement of the overall database structure of Celergo systems. The Sr. SQL Developer/Technical Architect will report to the Software Development Manager and will be accountable for creating SQL scripts and SSIS packages that improve and optimize database transactions within the Celergo business model. In addition, the SQL Developer will be responsible for ensuring high data integrity as well as optimizing database performance within the environment.



  • Design, enhance performance, and tune application
  • Architect solutions to complex business procedures
  • Perform complex database programming by writing SQL procedures on large-scale databases
  • Design and implement data solutions including data partitioning, data normalizing/de-normalizing, data aggregations, and ETL to support data warehouse environment
  • Work closely with our business teams to understand business reporting and analytic requirements
  • Develop new database schema/objects and/or review existing objects to improve storage efficiency and access
  • Creating, reviewing, analyzing, and modifying SQL scripts, procedures and supporting programs to ensure proper execution, efficient operation, and sustainable coding constructs.
  • Conduct code reviews on existing procedures, as well as enhancements and new features
  • Proven ability to perform technical troubleshooting to diagnose, isolate and correct data and database issues.
  • Knowledge of data analysis, end user requirements analysis, and business requirements analysis to ensure a clear understanding of the business needs and to incorporate these needs into technical solutions
  • Conducting data analysis to identify data integrity issues within databases, interfaces, or other data related repositories.
  • Making design recommendations for database functions that meet business operating standards while improving the efficiency of business processes.
  • Applying quality controls to work functions including appropriate testing and validation of new or modified programs prior to deployment.
  • Demonstrating and applying reasonable and practical security controls within the SQL and database environments to minimize security risks.
  • Providing technical expertise in assessing software projects and related initiatives to enhance or support the Celergo software environment.
  • Writing technical procedures and/or supporting documentation for the applications including operational usage or procedures, user guides, etc.
  • Participate in project planning, project estimations, and business discussions
  • Strictly adhering to programming / security standards or similar protocols that seek to reduce or eliminate risks associated with the introduction of program and/or data modifications.
  • Serving as a liaison and facilitator between departments to assist in addressing and resolving database related issues.



  • 4 Year Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 6-7+ years of experience working with SQL Server
  • 2+ years of experience working with an Enterprise Data Warehouse environment/BI or Architecture Design
  • Must be able to create stored procedures
  • Strong knowledge and use of SSIS functionality for performing complex data integration functions. Thorough understanding of ETL (Mapping, Cleaning, Transforming.
  • Proven knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts including security and performance optimization.
  • Ability to develop and optimize data models including the use of effective/future dating logic.
  • Capability to write CLR assemblies for SQL Server is a plus.
  • Microsoft.NET, C#,Excel VBA, and/or Visual Basic knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to think at an architectural level in creating, growing, maintaining, and documenting scalable systems
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Proven ability to be flexible and work hard, both independently and in a team environment, in a high pressure environment with changing priorities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities.
  • Willingness to work occasionally outside of normal business hours.
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills.
Experience with Accounting or Payroll environments is desired
