RMD Contracts is seeking a Sr. Contracts Negotiator or Contracts Manager in the Strategic Missile Defense Mission Area to provide contracts support to the Standard Missile-3 (SM-3) Block IIA (Blk IIA) program. SM-3 Blk IIA is a multi-billion dollar missile defense solution critical to layered homeland defense. Under these contracts Raytheon supports the Missile Defense Agencys mission by performing U.S. and Foreign Military Sales work across the entire development, production and sustainment effort lifecycle of the SM-3 IIA system. This program operates from Tucson, AZ, and the successful candidate may perform a significant portion of their duties remotely. Moderate travel may be required.

RMD is seeking a Contracts professional with superior interpersonal and communication skills paired with deep contracting knowledge. The candidate must have strong demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member in a mission critical environment. The successful candidate will showcase their leadership skills as a key customer interface for contracting matters and will work closely with internal functional members. The ideal candidate possesses skills and strengths in contract management, finance and program management. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Pre-RFP collaboration to shape SOW language to minimize Company risk and meet customer requirements
  • Key team member during proposal preparation for various contract types/vehicles (IDIQ, FPIF, FFP, CPIF, CPFF)
  • Develop negotiation strategies and lead negotiations to achieve program and business area objectives
  • Effectively communicate contractual terms and conditions and provide recommendations to mitigate or solve contractual/program risks


US Citizenship is required as this position needs an active US Security Clearance as of day one of employment

Position Expectations:
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to integrity, excellence and inclusion
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to understand the financial aspects of contracts and other business arrangements, including incentive structures and risk quantification; ability to contribute to negotiation strategy and possess strong negotiation skills
  • Capable of handling several concurrent assignments with different internal and external customers. Strong time management and organizational skills are essential
  • Capable of resolving contractual issues and formulating recommendations/solutions
  • Ability to understand and ensure compliance with applicable Company policy and guidelines

Required Skills:
  • 6 years of professional contracts related experience
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Law, Finance or related field
  • Experience leading proposal and contract negotiations with a track record of achieving business objectives and meeting customer needs
  • Experience working with FAR, DFARS and other US Government regulations
  • Computer proficiency; experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Adobe
  • U.S. Citizenship is required

Desired Skills:
  • Juris Doctor or MBA
  • Existing DoD Secret Clearance
  • Experience managing production, development or service contracts valued at $50M or higher
  • Experience with multiple contract types and vehicles including IDIQ, FPIF, FFP, CPIF, CPFF

Security Clearance:
This position requires the eligibility to obtain security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement. Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
