The Raytheon Missiles and Defense (RMD) Contracts team has an opening for a Sr. Contracts Negotiator to support the Tomahawk cruise missile program in the Naval Power Mission Area. The Tomahawk cruise missile is a precision weapon that launches from ships and submarines and can strike targets precisely from 1,000 miles away, even in heavily defended airspace. This Sr. Contract Negotiator role position offers a unique opportunity to propose, negotiate, capture and manage efforts that span the product life cycle while gaining valuable experience with the US Navy.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the analysis of Request for Proposals (RFP), proposal reviews and coordination, contract negotiation, estimate at completion (EAC) reviews, support program management and execution reviews and general contract administration of a diverse portfolio of contracts. The selected candidate will advise program management of contractual rights and obligations and means to mitigate contractual/program risks and will serve as the primary customer interface for contracting matters and will be responsible for establishing and maintaining trust and cooperation while ensuring that proposed and negotiated terms and conditions comply with company policies and guidelines.

Some travel may be required.



U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance within one year.



Position Expectations:
  • Ability to understand the financial aspects of contracts and other business arrangements; ability to contribute to negotiation strategy and possess strong negotiation skills.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and handling several contractual assignments concurrently
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proven strong work initiative and ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas
  • Effective communicator both orally and in writing; strong analytical skills; strong interpersonal skills

Required Skills:
  • 6 years of related contract administration and/or customer interactions experience including proposal preparation and contract negotiations.
  • BA/BS in Business, Finance, Management, Communications or related field
  • Exposure to FAR / DFARS terms and conditions and/or terms review & negotiations.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required
Desired Skills:
  • JD or MBA
  • Existing DoD Secret clearance
  • Contract administration experience with the US Department of Defense (DoD) and DCS
  • Focus on responsiveness with strong time management and organizational skills
  • Previous effective interaction with customers
  • Ability to work within an integrated product team and foster trust with external and internal customers
  • Computer proficiency, experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and shared data bases
  • Experience in price negotiations
  • Ability to influence while maintaining positive relationships

Security Clearance:
This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security Clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.
