Sr. Director of OSS/BSS Operations — Comcast Cable Communications, LLC, Philadelphia, PA.


Manage teams responsible for performing reliability engineering of more than 2,600 Enterprise applications used by over 40,000 customer care agents and over 30,000 technicians; utilize Amdocs Billing System to provide end-to-end production support for Operation Support Systems/Business Support Systems (OSS/BSS), and Middleware and Data Management Systems operations, including billing, provisioning, activation, authentication, transaction processing, and location service systems; design system deployment and technical architecture for large-scale billing systems and related IT ecosystems; support ordering, activation, and billing processes for telecommunication services; perform system integration for BSS/OSS systems; build automation strategies for handling billing operations, systems monitoring, and outage detection; review technical architecture and functional architecture of BSS/CRM and related subsystems, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement; coordinate with 3rd parties and external service providers to perform system integrations for BSS/OSS systems; manage product performance and reliability testing of BSS/OSS Solutions; perform in-depth reliability and operational reviews with platform and product owners to improve system resiliency; work with application development teams to analyze proposed application changes and identify potential issues impacting system availability; manage outage bridges; drive incidents through resolution and draft incident reports; manage outage communications with senior executives and business groups across the organization; collaborate with the engineering and deployment teams to identify root causes of system issues; collaborate with development teams regarding billing systems implementations and prepare plans for any possible black-outs; interface with front-line monitoring teams to triage system failures; and directly supervise six (6) employees, including one (1) Manager, one (1) Principal Engineer, two (2) Engineer 4s, and two (2) Engineer 3s.  In performing duties, travel 25% domestically/internationally. 


Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; and ten (10) years of experience managing Business Support System (BSS) operations/support or implementations for a telecommunication service provider; and working on Billing system implementations; of which five (5) years includes managing the design and support of ordering, activation, and billing processes for telecommunication services; and reviewing technical architecture and functional architecture of BSS/CRM systems; of which three (3) years includes working with Amdocs billing systems; coordinating with 3rd parties and external service providers to perform system integrations for BSS/OSS systems; and managing product performance and reliability of BSS/OSS solutions; and of which two (2) years includes building automation strategies for handling billing operations, systems monitoring, and outage detection.
