Job Description

Raytheon Missiles and Defense business unit in Tucson, AZ is seeking to hire a Senior Manager Systems Engineering within the Systems Design & Architecture Organization to perform as a Digital Engineering lead, overseeing and managing the overall digital strategy for strategic programs, working across the business domain and customer community. The Senior Manager will lead efforts to define, architect, and implement Digital Engineering solutions that satisfy the RTX strategy and customer requirements.

The Digital Engineering Lead role is a strategic technical role that requires deep technical understanding within the domain and within the context of the customer requirements. Although not the primary person responsible for the financial accounting for the program, this role has broad impact on the ability of the team to meet technical and financial commitments for program success and for the customer. It will implement the foundation for future Digital Engineering efforts.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Architects the overall digital strategy for programs working across RTX, the business, with stakeholders and customers in compliance with Digital Engineering requirements as specified by the customer. Promotes and establishes training for a digital/Agile culture, leads across multi-disciplines as well as with an industry partner, and can be a program advocate at the Enterprise level.

Establishes the foundation of Digital Engineering for RMD and/or RTX and designs the Digital Engineering methodology, architecture, tools, and processes on highly complex programs that will form the basis for future efforts across the company.

Evaluates appropriate Enterprise Digital Transformation efforts across RTX that provide program lift and coordinates to obtain the technology and achieve buy-in with the program and customers. Establishes network infrastructure, MBSE strategy, Agile methodology by coordinating across the entire program team and with the customer. Assesses best practices across RTX and includes them in the Digital Engineering architecture.

Identifies gaps in RTX technology and processes, works through challenges, brings in knowledge when necessary, and negotiates with the customer on scope and resolution of issues.

Provides leadership presence, strategic thought, and the ability to influence across the program. The Lead must be able to confidently brief customers on program digital engineering and show how it fits within their own constructs. Represent RMD/RTX on national working groups as well as Enterprise efforts such as Digital Transformation.

Gains deep knowledge of the customer care-abouts and how resources within the domain can be applied in the most efficient way possible. Responsible for developing training and on-boarding resources that share this knowledge with team members and deploy the technology across the program.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Skills:

12 or more years of experience in the Systems Engineering domain
Expert in the Digital Engineering domain area and experienced in deploying it on representative programs
Experience with deployment of Agile and MBSE across a program (more than software)
Demonstrated experience leading complex design efforts
Experience managing cost and schedule performance in a deadline schedule driven environment
Demonstrated leadership skills or experience with effective planning and scheduling that lead to the completion of program execution efforts in accordance to customer and company requirements
Strategic focus including relevant experience
US citizenship
Ability to obtain a US Secret Security Clearance
Bachelors Degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) or other related field
