Senior Mechanical Producibility Engineer II
Raytheon Technologies Mechanical Products Team provides engineering design & development to a wide range of hardware in the Raytheon Missiles & Defense business. The Agile Hardware Solutions department is responsible for improving the cost competitiveness of the work products developed by the Mechanical Products Team, through both workforce efficiency and product affordability optimization.
The Mechanical Producibility Engineer within Agile Hardware Solutions will work directly with Mechanical Engineering, Materials & Processes and Design & Drafting from the Mechanical Products Team as well as our Operations, Quality and Supply Chain peers to implement mechanical producibility on new and emerging programs as well as upgrades to existing programs. Early engagement in the conceptual stage and throughout the development process will ensure that our designs are optimized with respect to methods of manufacture. The Producibility Engineer is an integral part of the Integrated Product Team (IPT) and will lead Design for Manufacturing & Assembly (DFMA) workshops aimed at reducing product cost. The candidate will develop technical solutions to complex problems that require regular use of ingenuity, innovation, creativity and accountability to cost and schedule. Occasional domestic travel is expected.

Required Skills:
- 6 years or more of experience in mechanical product design and manufacturing
- Experience implementing Design for Manufacturing and Assembly to reduce product cost
- Knowledgeable in the principles and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Recent experience and working knowledge of material forming and fabrication capabilities and technologies such as machining, casting, forging, welding, brazing, injection molding or additive manufacturing.
- Must currently have or be able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret clearance
- Project management experience
- ASME Certified GD&T Professional (GDTP per ASME Y14.5.2) or equivalent
- Experience with supplier development and coordination
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team environment & influence leadership
- Experience with process capability trade studies, cost estimating and rapid prototyping
- Experience with composite technologies including material and process research, fiber orientation and vacuum bagging
- Experience with injection molding and other non-metallic materials and processes
- Experience with forming and welding of exotic materials
- Experience with near net shape technologies such as investment, sand and die casting processes and/or the forging processes for ferrous and non-ferrous materials
- US Military service will be strongly considered
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline
