The Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) National Team Engineering is seeking a Sr Principal Systems Engineer who will report directly to the National Team System Integration Lead. This position enables the execution of system level integration of the Missile Defense System (MDS). It includes understanding capability needs and critical system interdependencies at allocated integration points throughout the system engineering development process. The Sr Principal Systems Engineer supports the MDA System Integrator, including both National Team and government engineers, to plan for continued MDS development and adequate testing of new/updated capabilities. The Sr Principal Systems Engineer comprehends, assesses and develops industry engagement(s) to include industry reach back to drive integration issues to closure from system concept through declaration assessments for all technical baseline behaviors, functionalities, capabilities and performance. The Sr Principal Systems Engineer functions to identify key behaviors and performance parameters, and develops associated plans, to support the MDAs ability to perform timely integration, execute system tests, and perform system assessment activities. The Sr Principal Systems Engineer will work closely with the Systems Integration Focus Group and present MDA integration deficiencies. The position is in Huntsville, AL.

Active/Current DoD Secret Clearance is required. Except in rare circumstances, only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Required Skills:
10+ years of related experience
Familiarity with large-scale System of Systems and DoD weapons systems integration
Ability to develop, coordinate, and communicate horizontal and vertical integration plans
Understand relationship of intended behavior and requirements to test objectives
Ability to work with system engineering tools to apply sound systems engineering practices to the development of a system integration plan that thoroughly documents critical system focus areas, interdependencies and technical/schedule disconnects

Active/Current DoD Secret Clearance is required.

Required Education (including Major):
BS degree in Engineering, Mathematics or Physics; or related STEM discipline

Desired Skills:
20+ years of related experience
General experience with MDS elements and weapon system development capabilities
System experience and versatility in several MDS functional areas
Technical experience with MDS Elements and their integration including
Defining integration objectives
Writing integrations plans and strategies
Resolving technical systems integration issues
Reporting integration results
