Description

Our team looks for ways to increase software engineering velocity and productivity. We remove barriers to success by improving tools and processes, modernizing tech stacks, simplifying component dependency graphs, and fixing anything else we can think of that gets in the way of developers moving fast and enjoying what they do.

We improve tools and processes and modernize tech stacks. We help engineers around the organization who are stuck, frustrated, or simply have a question that they don't know whom to ask. We assist with building technical training videos and documentation. We look to reduce any friction or inefficiency that we can find anywhere in an engineer's workflow.

Team: passionate, collaborative, technical, enjoys helping people, interested in solving technical and organizational effectiveness challenges. You are someone who wants to work on a team just like ours.

Our product: we are Engineering Advocates for the Apple Media Products Engineering organization. Our charter is to increase engineering velocity and productivity by improving tools, processes, and understanding. You are someone who likes to do a little bit of everything, and is willing to dig in deep on any given project.

Impact: Direct impact on our employees, indirect impact on the world! You have ambitions to find and remove any friction you find within our organization so that we can continue to make Insanely Great products and services!

Technology: we look for ways to encourage our organization to adopt modern technology and approaches whenever possible, and do the same for all of our own coding projects. You bring deep technical expertise in modern software stacks and well-formed ideas on what type of software engineering processes work well for large teams working on complex software projects.

Culture: we have a unique opportunity to influence and shape the culture within our organization. We are looking for big thinkers and you bring fresh ideas. You understand that changing culture is hard, and the ability to do consensus-building, identify evangelists, promote small successes, and learn from your failures are all skills that you possess.

This is unique opportunity! There is nowhere else on earth where you can use a combination of technical and personal skills to think about these types of problems and impact so many people. If you're a dynamic person who is as comfortable with your "people skills" as you are with hacking Java code, someone who loves new challenges, someone who likes improving things as much as building things, and someone who is passionate about discovering new ways to accelerate the rate at which we can improve, then reach out to us!
