We have an opening for a Senior Supervisor. You will have technical, administrative, and supervisory responsibility for managing and coordinating various trades within the maintenance production mechanical systems arena (HVAC, Boiler, Plumbing, Sheetmetal, Welding, and Heavy Equipment). This position is in the Infrastructure Maintenance & Utilities Department.

Essential Duties
- Supervise and provide highly advanced administrative policy and procedure guidance pertaining to Performance Management including but not limited to; constructive and timely feedback to employees, training and personnel actions including hiring, discipline, dismissal, salary adjustments, documentation and interviews.
- Supervise technical supervisors and journey-level crafts personnel engaged in the installation, repair, fabrication, operation and maintenance of plant facilities and utilities.
- Oversee multi-discipline tasks for maintenance and/or programmatic projects, monitor methods, materials, and work performance to ensure efficient, practical and safe approach to scheduled work.
- Resolve highly complex problems and issues and make decisions using a high degree of independent discretion and judgment in determining work schedules and setting priorities.
- Collaborate with Laboratory scientific, technical and administrative clients to determine the requirements of requested projects. Ensure customer needs/issues are resolved and communicated in an effective and timely manner.
- Maintain a working knowledge of the latest maintenance and construction technologies, codes, laws and regulations, environmental requirements, and DOE Orders.
- Responsible for the general oversight and personal commitment to the goals of Integrated Safety Management, Work Planning and Control, and Safeguards and Security.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Bachelors degree in engineering technology, technical management, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field.
- Highly advanced skills, knowledge and ability in the maintenance and/or construction field with extensive supervisory and journey level experience in mechanical trades.
- Significant experience supervising, developing staffing plans, hiring and providing technical work direction in one or more of the following trades, HVAC, Boiler, Plumbing, Sheetmetal, Welding and Heavy Equipment.
- Significant experience in Performance Management; conducting performance appraisals, salary, promotional recommendations and disciplinary actions.
- Advanced knowledge and experience accomplishing multi-craft work, modifications, installation and maintenance. Proven problem solving skills to anticipate, identify and resolve highly complex problems and issues.
- Thorough knowledge of plant facilities and mechanical systems.
- Highly advanced communication skills, verbal and written including the ability to interact with all levels of scientific, technical and administrative personnel.
- Advanced knowledge of maintenance and minor alteration activities; safety standards; federal state and local codes, laws and regulations.
- Knowledge of ES&H, security regulations, and Integrated Safety Management.

Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of Facilities and Infrastructure business rules, processing of Work Orders, Work Planning and Control, Skill of the Craft.

Security Clearance: This position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance.

If you are selected, wewill initiate a Federal background investigation to determine if youmeet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter. In addition, all L or Q cleared employees are subject to random drug testing. Q-level clearance requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold multiple citizenships (U.S. and another country), you may be required to renounce your non-U.S. citizenship before a DOE L or Q clearance will be processed/granted.For additional information, please see DOE Order 472.2.

Note: This is a Career Indefinite position. Lab employees and external candidates may be considered for this position. Employees assigned to work at Site 300 may be exposed to the organism that causes San Joaquin Valley Fever (coccidiomycosis).
