This role
is within the Systems Supply Chain and Technology Enabling SSC
Organization. The engineer will have a strong focus on ICs
component technology, with a primary mission of driving multi
source options for the business unit(s).
This job
responsibilities will span the component life cycle from component
initial design through HVM manufacturing. An ideal candidate will
collaborate with suppliers to thoroughly understand the component
ecosystem supplier capabilities and work to drive seamless
integration of the solutions into Intel products. The engineer must
demonstrate knowledge of model based problem solving and have
willingness to evaluate a supplier's quality operating system.
As the Sr. Supply Chain R &D Engineer, you will be responsible, you will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Work closely with the business unit design teams and the supplier base to understand the Intel's component needs and integrate those needs with the best multi-source supplier solution in the broader component ecosystem.
- Component design for quality, manufacturing, sustainability, and cost.
- Collaboration within SSC commercial and engineering teams as well as with the business unit and our preferred suppliers.
- Articulate sourcing strategies to senior leaders and stakeholders and contribute to supply chain strategy development or other strategic projects as appropriate.
- Drive program, technology, and technical supplier management for product development of IC component and solutions across a variety of Intel business groups for the IC Sourcing group.
- Collaborate with business partners and suppliers to influence and define product requirements and hold suppliers accountable to ensure manufacturing processes adhere to Intel's quality, reliability, cost, yield, and performance expectations.
- Leverage market intelligence and partner with peer commercial, finance, and quality resources to develop and influence supply chain strategies with current and new suppliers and partner organizations.
- Acquire and maintain technical understanding of components purchased and develop new supply sources where new capabilities are needed to support Intel technologies.
- Understand and streamline processes and be comfortable with high levels of ambiguity.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must possess at least one of the following degrees plus the years of experience determined for each degree in the areas specified below:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Engineering or a related field of study and 5+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in either Mechanical, Electrical, or Materials Engineering.
- MBA.
- Demonstrated data analytics skills and willingness to drive data based decision making.
- Demonstrated high levels of collaboration and teamwork.

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
