Job Description

Intel's Product Assurance and Security (IPAS) team is chartered with building and maintaining customer trust through unparalleled security, privacy and assurance of Intel products. This team drives security and assurance governance, identifies emerging threats, secures existing products through mitigations, and defines and initiates future security innovations for Intel products.

The Intel Product Security Incident Response Team (PSIRT) is a key component of the IPAS charter and is responsible for managing the identification, assessment and disposition of risks associated with security vulnerabilities affecting Intel products.

Intel PSIRT is creating a "Security Vulnerability Technical Team" that will be composed of Technical Product Security Research Experts who will:

Augment the Critical Issue Triage Team and Product Engineering Teams to perform, and/or oversee, the triage of reported Security Vulnerabilities and the validation of respective mitigation prior to disclosure.
Be a pool of leaders for PRT Technical Teams.
Teach Product Engineering Teams and PRT Tech Teams to perform triage and validation work for vulnerabilities.
Own the classification of Security Vulnerabilities in Intel.
Own and maintain the Intel Rational Analysis of Vulnerabilities and Exposures (RAVE), which is a methodology to assist Intel in classifying and assigning priority to security vulnerabilities in Intel supported pre and post release products, solutions or offerings.
Act as advisors to customers (internal/external) with respect to security vulnerabilities technical details.
Provide customer technical briefings on security vulnerabilities.
Be available as Product Security Technical Subject Matter Experts for conferences and other speaking engagements.
Perform proactive malware analyses for underlying vulnerabilities.
Emerging Threat Analysis
o Lead and publish an Intel Product Security Threat Intelligence Report.
o Provide briefings to Intel Executives Product Engineering Teams on Product Security Vulnerability Trends and strategies for reducing the occurrences of such vulnerabilities.
o Monitor security research (including conferences and individuals) as information sources to feed proactive vulnerability research
o Identify targets and lead security vulnerability and mitigation research
o Sponsor external researchers and conferences
Partner with IT in responding to ITERP that cross over from Enterprise to the Product Security Space.


Qualifications

Candidate must have a Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 15+ years of InfoSec and/or Product Security experience
One or more Security Certifications such as OSCP - Offensive Security Certified Professional, GPEN - GIAC Certified Penetration Tester, GCIA - GIAC Certified Intrusion Analyst, GCIH - GIAC Certified Incident Handler, CIPP/T - Information Protection Professional/ IT, CISSP
Technical expertise in Information Security, networking, cryptography, authentication, incident response, risk assessment, intrusion analysis, user experience research, OS security, biometrics, application security, virtualization, control analysis, product security.
Experience leading building and working on a Red team as a security researcher.
Contributing member of Product Group Security Architecture Forum (SAFe)
Experience leading high profile security vulnerabilities to resolution and managing relationships with external security researchers.
Maintains extensive connections in the Security Community at large.
Extensive network of contacts including security researchers, security industry experts, members of key bodies (FIRST, ICASI, MITRE, CERT, etc.), and computing industry incident response professionals.
Experience working with security researchers and government agencies
Subject matter expertise in product security concepts
Experience leading mission critical projects
Able to anticipate critical situations and to proactively plan tactical and strategic response to a product security issue
Able to achieve objectives working with others across teams and organizations
o Drive processes and systems to support the success of corporate product security response capability
o Work effectively in situations involving uncertainty or lack of information and respond favorably to change
Action-oriented, independently driven leadership skills and experience
Demonstrated technical leadership to establish plans and deliver high quality results on time
Be able to learn and understand new products and technology quickly
Demonstrated track record of delivering results on tight timelines and changing requirements.
Strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated experience presenting to various internal and external groups
o Experienced public speaker.
Familiarity with ongoing security research against Intel products and infrastructure and ability to apply that knowledge to product security incident response.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$171,710.00-$274,890.00

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
