The Next
Generation and Systems (NGS) group within Intel's Corporate
Strategy Office is seeking an innovative senior wireless network
systems engineer. In this role, you will be working on the design
and implementation of innovative solutions to improve network
performance. The role focuses on network stack improvements as well
as optimizations that applies to end-to-end performance, including
congestion avoidance, packet recovery, reduce latency, increase
reliability etc. Also, you are expected to collaborate closely with
systems engineers, AI/ML architects, SW engineers to provide a
complete end-to-end
solution.
As a Sr.
Wireless Network Systems Engineer, your responsibilities will
include but are not limited
to:
Developing network models and simulations of real world wireless and wired networks
Wireless Network benchmarking, analysis and optimization
Interfacing with and integrating wireless network analytics and telemetry data into network analysis and optimization systems and corresponding control information back into physical networks and their management systems

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering related field with 6+ years of related experience or Master degree in an Engineering related field with 4+ years of related experience.
Experience should be in the following:Wireless network design and optimization of radios, base stations, core networks (5G, 4G/LTE).
Wireless network protocols and interfaces (5G, 4G/LTE).
Scripting language (Python or C++).
Preferred Qualifications:
Wireless technology including 5G cellular networks and 802.11 WiFi.
Wireless network simulation (NS-3, NetSim).
Enterprise / data center / cloud networking including:
IP routing concepts and interfaces, including SDN disaggregation.
Sound theoretical knowledge of network OSI layers and networking technologies.
Switching, Routing Architectures, dynamic routing protocols e.g., OSPF, RIP, BGP.
Knowledge and/or some experience on commercial (Cisco/Arista) switches and routers configurations.
Knowledge on Software Defined Networking (SDN).
Automation and scripting knowledge.
Next generation core concepts such as network slicing and service-based architecture.

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
