The
mission of Intel Labs is to drive technology leadership for Intel.
This includes conducting research and development in collaboration
with business groups and aligning Intel's strategies and
technologies with future industry needs. The Strategic CAD Lab
(SCL) in the IP Design and Platforms (IDP) Group in Intel Labs is
driving exciting research to identify innovative systems
technologies and capabilities for system analysis, design,
validation and optimization of SoC and datacenter
systems.
We are looking for an experienced
research scientist to advance our analysis and exploration
capabilities for scale-out datacenter systems as well as
system-on-chip and system-in-package. The research will focus on
enabling novel interconnect technologies and demonstrating their
end-to-end system advantages to help translate those technologies
into future products. The candidate must have a strong research
discipline, be able to closely work with partners to drive the
research agenda, and be capable of quick prototyping to test their
work.
The ideal candidate is expected
to:
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communications skills, be an independent thinker as well as an exceptional team player
- Maintain substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories. Contribute to scientific literature via papers and presentations. Initiate the design, development, and implementation of automated techniques to fuel Intel's growth in the areas of system-level and architecture design.
- Use scientific methods to investigate the feasibility of novel concepts typically 3-7 years prior to landing on a product roadmap.
- Validate ideas through high quality software prototyping, simulations techniques, FPGAs and ability to debug and analyze system platforms.
Qualifications
You
must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for
this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the
requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top
candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a
combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research
and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences
Minimum
Qualifications:
- The candidate must possess a Ph.D. degree ( with 4+ years industry or academic experience ) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a relevant engineering discipline
- 2+ years' experience in research in modeling, analysis and optimization (design and runtime)
- 2+ years' experience in using and developing performance, power and exploration models
- 2+ years' software experience in Linux, python, C/C++, performance characterization
- 2+
years' of research and development in network-on-chip or
datacenter networks and familiarity with communication
protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven track record of taking initiative and driving projects to completion - results orientation
- Experience with one or more software and FPGA prototyping projects
- Understanding of wireless and datacenter networking mechanisms and protocols
- Familiarity with AI-based optimization techniques
- Good understanding of modern computer architecture and micro-architecture
- High-quality publications in top tier conferences and journals.

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
