The mission of Intel Labs is to drive technology leadership for Intel. This includes coordinating research and development among several business groups and aligning Intel's strategies and technologies with future industry needs. The Emerging Systems Lab (ESL) in the Systems, Software and Architecture Research (SSA) Group in Intel Labs driving exciting research to identify innovative systems technologies and capabilities for end-to-end (edge to cloud) infrastructure. The Cloud Systems Research (CSR) within ESL driving breakthrough intelligent infrastructure and systems research, innovating novel data management, media, AI/DL, and graphics technologies.
Our
research focus includes a) scalable and distributed intelligent
visual infrastructure b) Acceleration and cross-domain
co-optimization technologies for system efficiency c) AI automation
for developer productivity.
As we expand our
research to innovate technologies for scalable, efficient, and
automated intelligent infrastructure and systems, we are looking
for an experienced research scientist to advance visual/multimodal
data systems research. The research will translate those
technologies into software and system prototypes with the goal of
converting them into future products. The candidate must have a
strong research discipline, closely work with partners to drive the
research agenda, building a prototype. The candidate may
participate in the development of Intellectual Property (IPs) and
peer-reviewed
publications.

Qualifications
You must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications
The candidate must possess a Masters degree ( with 5+ years industry experience ) or Ph.D. degree ( with 2+ years industry experience ) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or a relevant engineering discipline
2+ years experience in research experience in data management systems, experience with visual infrastructure is preferred
2+ years experience in developing and optimizing system software for Intel architecture.
3+ years experience in system programming skills, C/C++, performance characterization, and analysis of SW
Preferred
Qualifications:
Proven track record of taking initiative and driving projects to completion - results orientation
Experience with one or more open-source projects, and contributor to an open-source project
Understanding of IA instruction set and Intel architecture
Experience in media processing, AI pipelines, optimizations, etc.
High-quality publications in top tier conference

Annual Salary
Range for jobs which could be performed in US,
Colorado:
$132,940.00-$199,800.00

Work Model for this Role
This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
