This position is with the Device Development Group DDG in Hillsboro OR. The DDG E-Core team is chartered with designing the latest Intel processors using the most advanced and innovative process technologies. The processors conceived designed and developed by the team directly contributes to Intel's leading processors used to create integrated hardware and software solutions such as processors, chipsets, graphics processors, motherboards, and networking components that deliver capabilities for security manageability performance and energy efficiency. The agile DDG team is at the forefront of the rapidly evolving digital world of computing by providing processor solutions and capabilities to efficiently manage data that is extensively integrated into all aspects of everyday life impacting how the world rapidly accesses stores and uses data for daily personal and business applications.As a CPU Synthesis Engineer your responsibilities include:Synthesis and Place and Route using industry standard tools for high speed CPU core designPerform all aspects of design flow from logic synthesis, place and route, FEV, power, timing, quality checks, and design closureDevelop strategies to deliver reproducible design convergence resultsHelp to create and refine synthesis flow for the project teamDevelop and recommend better design method practices to enable better synthesis convergenceThe ideal candidate will exhibit behavioral traits that demonstrate:Willingness to work with others in a highly complex decision spaceSkills at developing an implementation plan monitoring key indicators and communicating resource needs and scoping risk to deliver value on scheduleStrong communication and collaboration skills, including a willingness to work with others, to tolerate ambiguity and highly complex decision environments
Qualifications
You
must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially
considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in
addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus
factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would
be obtained through a combination of your
schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or
internship experiences. This is an entry level position and will be
compensated accordingly.
Minimum
Qualifications:
The candidate must
possess a Master's in Computer Engineering/Electrical
Engineering or higher
degree.
1+ years of experience in:
Computer architecture, including technical ownership/expertise relevant to some area in CPUs
Exposure to RTL Verilog, V2K, or SystemVerilog hardware languages
Modern energy-efficient/low-power logic design techniques, including those specifically applicable to high frequency optimization
High speed digital circuit design and verification on deep sub- micron processes
Industry standard circuit design tools, including schematic capture, logic synthesis, place and route, static timing analysis and design closure
Scripting in Perl, Python, Ruby, TCL, or some other scripting language
Preferred
Qualifications:
Knowledge of Intel Architecture ISA and system architecture
Familiarity with circuit planning and physical layout
Research publications, patent filings, or other evidence of personal technical innovation

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
