Job Description

The STEM@GTRI Rapid-Engineering Design Process Program seeks college students to assist the program.  The successful candidate will assist high school student interns with circuit design, evaluation, schematic capture, layout, and circuit testing. This role also provides engineering and supervisory support to the STEM@GTRI Rapid-Engineering Design Process Program high school students to include building and managing an electronic component library; assisting trainees with schematic capture, layout, and assembly; supporting program-specific tours and trainings; supervising and managing student teams consisting of minors; and monitoring team progress. 

Required Minimum Qualifications

Intern

  • Pursuing a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology
  • 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA
  • Ability to pass a background check to work with minors

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in 1 or more programming languages
  • Experience with circuit design
  • Task / team leadership experience
  • Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
  • Familiarity with Schematic Capture and Layout
  • Familiarity with PCB design and fabrication
  • Familiarity with electronic circuit testing
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas
