Intel is seeking an experienced Supercomputing Power Integrity Architect to contribute to the development of next-generation System and Platform architectures for HPC and AI applications.
This is an
exciting opportunity to join a team of pathfinding system and
platform architects tackling innovative architectures and
technologies in pursuit of zettascale computing. This project is
very aspirational - a grand challenge that is unifying research
agencies, academia, and industry in pursuit of converging HPC, data
analytics, and AI.
Responsibilities
Include:
Performing early simulations during pathfinding/feasibility study of platform definition phase.
Performing comprehensive simulations (DC/AC/Transient) during platform development phase.
Influencing the shaping of future Intel products by significantly contributing to the architecture used across multiple design families.
Understanding features from existing documentation and discussions with technical leaders across all aspects of system hardware and software.
Solid understanding of power and thermo-mechanical technologies at the board level.
Partnering with engineering and validation teams to enable developing and delivering board designs for these platforms.
Providing written technical presentations with simulation findings and corresponding design recommendations.

Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Hardware and Software development, or any other directly related discipline and 7+ years of experience.
Expert at physical system- and rack-level constraints in HPC and AI environments.
Good understanding of system architecture.
Experience with high-voltage routing requirements, high-power and high-current processor designs.
Understanding of package and PCB design techniques including optimal layer stack-up and power/ground plane assignments to minimize voltage noise, power delivery concepts, methodologies, on chip and off chip decoupling schemes.
Experience in power delivery analysis of digital and analog domains.
Your Working Experience Will Be in The
Following:
Developing board hardware innovations and specifications supporting new systems and platforms.
Having successfully modeled and enabled large, complex board reference designs used in productized platforms.
Being familiar with Open compute Program (OCP) specifications and requirements.
Preferred Qualifications and
Experience:
PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Hardware and Software Development or any other directly related discipline and 3+ years of experience.
Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Hardware and Software Development or any other directly related discipline and 5+ years of experience.
Architectural knowledge of supercomputing system architectures.
Understanding system memory standards and protocols, DDR4/5, LPDDR4/5, HBM2/3, is a plus.

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
