This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Intels long-term roadmap that will need ecosystem development of complex materials and equipment and subsequent integration of these actions to enable first to market advantage for Intel. The role requires extensive interaction and coordination with Intel Research/Development and Pathfinding teams, external niche suppliers as well as traditional suppliers and research institutions/Consortia worldwide.

In this role you will explore and benchmark emerging novel patterning technology and the associated enablers in the industry and in the research space; you will contribute to future technology definition and requirements and define the technical requirements for supplier selection. You will be working together with Intel internal research and development teams to define the equipment configuration/performance requirements/raw materials and overall materials manufacturing process flow to meet performance, quality, reliability, cost, yield, and manufacturability requirements.

The Supply Chain R&D engineer is responsible for:

  • Developing and enabling materials/equipment supply chain solutions to support Novel patterning/integration needs for leading-edge technologies.
  • Working with the Global Sourcing for Equipment and Materials (GSEM) accounts team other stakeholders to leverage one Intel strategy and one Intel messaging.
  • Driving supplier improvements on quality, reliability, and cost.
  • Developing solutions to problems utilizing formal technical expertise, statistical knowledge, and problem-solving tools
  • Developing strategy to resolve wide range of difficult and complex problems.

Additionally, as part of this role, you will establish master Gantt, perform regular reviews on the project progress and successfully manage projects from concept to closure.  You will also work closely with key players in research/consortium space in emerging technologies and target to translate them into internal opportunities for evaluation.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Position not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must possess at least one of the following degrees; plus, the years of experience determined for each degree in the areas specified below:  

1- Bachelor's degree in engineering or science discipline with 9+ years of relevant fab work experience, semiconductor industry, manufacturers, and materials/equipment supply chains.

2- Master's degree in engineering or science discipline with 6+ years of relevant fab work experience, semiconductor industry, manufacturers, and materials/equipment supply chains.

3- Ph.D. in engineering or science discipline with 4+ years of relevant fab work experience, semiconductor industry, manufacturers, and materials/equipment supply chains.

Expertise Areas:

  • Semiconductor process technology and Integration with an emphasis on patterning/integration challenges.
  • Semi-industrys enabling programs in each area.
  • Technology/business tradeoffs.
  • Develop and implement strategic engagement plans for advanced technical capability involving multiple suppliers' needs.
  • Stakeholder & Change management.
  • Program/project management with a results orientation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiar with semiconductor overall roadmap, integration challenges, and overall process roadmap.
  • Having prior integration experience is a significant plus.
  • Having prior supplier engagement experience is a significant plus.
  • Awareness of ecosystem in lithography/etch tools and materials.
  • Ability to play an active role in adjacent areas of litho-etch optimizations.
  • Formal knowledge/ educational background in /Integration/Litho/etch process is desirable.
  • A strong business understanding, particularly related to semi equipment industry, is a significant plus.
  • Ability to drive supply chain players to deliver to needed requirements.
  • Ability to work across Internal pathfinding and supply chain to ensure one clear messaging to suppliers.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
