We are currently looking for an Architect & Systems Engineer who can collaborate with Product Management, Engineering and Industrialization teams to establish system architecture.   • Own the system architecture to drive safety critical designs that enable quality, cost optimized residential smoke / gas Detectors and Alarms.
  • Provide technical oversight and leadership in decomposing critical performance needs into subsystem and component requirements.
  • Introduce and advocate the use of model based systems engineering and systems simulation into the Carrier engineering organization
  • Act as SME to provide tradeoff analysis of engineering solutions to meet quality, safety, and cost targets.
  • Contribute to engineering project schedule and budget development during product realization.
  • Communicate technical tradeoffs and risks.
  • Provide input for long term technology strategies.
  • Mentors all levels of engineering to develop and drive best practices.



  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering discipline (electrical, FW/SW, biomedical)
  • Strong understanding of rigorous design controls.
  • Strong track record of creative and innovative problem solving in cross-functional environments.
  • Ability to work creatively and productively across multi-disciplinary teams with little supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills are required.
  • Passion to learn new technologies and find new solutions.
  • Takes initiative and acts quickly to drive solutions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • 10+ years desired of experience in systems engineering of complex electro-mechanical equipment.
  •  Experience contributing to a company culture of engineering excellence.
