Job Description

As part of the Manufacturing and Product Engineering (MPE) global organization, you will work in an exciting Product Platform Validation (PPV) team developing leading-edge client microprocessors test. As PPV engineer, you will create production test solutions, develop test methods, and integrate work into high-volume production test programs.

  • Responsible for ensuring the testability and manufacturability of integrated circuits from the component feasibility stage through production ramp.

  • Make significant contributions to design, development and validation of testability circuits. Evaluation, development and debug of complex test methods.

  • Develops and debugs complex software programs to convert design validation vectors and drive complex test equipment.

  • Creates and tests validation and production test hardware solutions.

  • Tests, validates, modifies and redesigns circuits to guarantee component margin to specification.

  • Analyzes and evaluates component specification versus performance to ensure optimal match of component requirements with production equipment capability with specific emphasis on yield analysis and bin split capability.

  • Analyzes early customer returns with emphasis on driving test hole closure activities.

  • Creates and applies concepts for optimizing component production relative to both quality and cost constraints.

  • Autonomously plans and schedules own daily tasks, develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidate must have a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and 3+ years experience.


Masters degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science and 2+ years of experience.


PhD degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering and/or Computer Science.


  • Basic microprocessor and system architecture

  • Proficient in software coding and debug: C, Perl/Python, or C# coding

  • Experience developing hardware validation and functional test plans to evaluate system stability, performance, power, and/or software compatibility

  • Experience with hardware, firmware, and/or software (system-application stack) interfaces across all modules in a system; platform debug of failure mechanisms.

  • Willing to design, execute, and analyze experiments to troubleshoot and solve complex problems; track record of leading test execution, issue debug, and resolution

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exposure to JTAG based system debug tools such as ITP, OpenIPC, and/or DCI.

  • Background in ATE/system testing, test methodology, electronics design, or product development.

  • Capability to use scopes, logic analyzers, or other similar equipment to collect measurements.

  • Knowledge of architecture along with Linux and Windows Operating Systems.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
