This is a unique opportunity to be part of Intel's System Supply Chain (SSC) organization, developing and driving the execution of industry-leading supply chain solutions for many of Intel's highest growth market initiatives.

The Component's organization within SSC focuses on developing and executing sourcing strategies which provide Intel with a competitive advantage by maintaining appropriate tension and balance between cost, quality, availability, technology, and sustainability.

The Systems Component Solutions (SCS) team within the Components Organization is responsible for managing the supply chain enablement for PCBs, thermal cooling, power supplies, chassis, cabling and connectors for every Intel product that is managed through our external network. This team manages a broad supplier ecosystem globally and the employee base is also geo-diversified.


 As the Systems Component Solutions Director, you will be responsible for but not limited to: 

  • Enabling critical product roadmaps internally with business unit organizations across Intel to accelerate technology leadership through effective commercial and engineering engagements with our key supply chain partners.
  • Leveraging market intelligence to both identify new technology solutions to support Intel's roadmap while monitoring solutions being pursued by our competition.
  • Aligning with key stakeholders from partner organizations on proactive sourcing and supplier development strategies to ensure uninterrupted supply that is meeting our cost, quality, availability and sustainability requirements.
  • Develop risk mitigation strategies to offset geo-political threats and risks induced by other hazards that could impact new product development for high volume manufacturing.
  • Understands the technical concepts, architecture, systems, development methods, and disciplines associated with boards and systems designs and supply chain, applies the knowledge to deliverables and leverages it to accelerate project completion.
  • Engaging in global teams across multiple organizations that is directly tied to the development, implementation of new production solutions and technologies.
  • Assessing risks and identifying solutions to achieve program goals.
  • Ensuring appropriate progress against schedule and taking action as appropriate.
  • Prioritizing utilization of resources with other functions.
  • Influencing business unit or cross-organizational strategies relevant to program goals.

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate should possess a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or 15+ year experience in working with microelectronics, electronic component packaging, or semiconductors with a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • 5+ years experience as a second-line manager or 10+ years experience as first-line manager working with a global team.
  • 5+ years of direct component sourcing experience with a strong focus on both commercial and engineering deliverables.
  • This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or equivalent business/commercial background
  • Technical understanding of semiconductor hierarchies and design
  • Strong command over and familiarity with Intel product roadmap and ability to map and drive market trends to Intel's needs.
  • Ability to apply structured problem solving and system thinking to drive and solve high-impact and at-scale engineering problems.
  • Supplier management experience.
  • Knowledge in:
    • Budget and resource planning.
    • Supply chain business processes.
    • NPI development process.
    • Leading multi-cultural globally distributed teams.
    • Project management.
    • Assembly, test manufacturing processes and platform engineering.

Work Model for this Role

This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
