This Systems Engineer role is within the Mission Engineering and Operations (MEO) organization supporting the Bus team. The Systems Engineer will support spacecraft operations, primarily through operation software products. The Systems Engineer will develop new software products, design, code, test and install products as well as maintain existing products. In support of mission operations, each member of the team is expected to become a subject matter expert in an area of mission support, and to support the rest of the team through reviews, testing and backup support of their products. The Systems Engineer will be required to be on-call 24/7 and occasionally work off-shift hours, responding to program needs

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace) or closely related field
- Bus subsystem experience
- Software and systems engineering/integration
- Linux and Windows operating environments
- Willingness to work in a 24x7 on-call environment and support off-shift work hours as needed

*US Citizenship and the ability to obtain TS/SCI with Poly Clearance

Desired skills
- Experience as a Subject Matter Expert for a power or thermal subsystem
- Subsystem experience with MSP (Military Support Program)
- Knowledge of Test and Operations Programming Language (TOPL) and program-specific Command and Control (C&C)
- Programming experience in MATLAB
- Perform in dynamic situations
- Work as part of a technical team to meet deadlines for multiple products
- Assessing risk, properly prioritizing, obtaining status, and accomplishing multiple tasks with only general direction
- Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, time-management, and self-motivation skills
- Flexibility to adapt to constantly changing requirements and situations
- Active TS/SCI
