About the Group:

The Next Generation and Standards (NGS) team within Intels Corporate Strategy Office actively remains at the tip of the spear for Intels strategic direction to position our company for the future. This means transforming the traditional silos of how work gets done and working across technology and business strategy teams at Intel. We are building Intel's leadership position for the next major industry inflection point a new paradigm built on the convergence of distributed intelligence, AI, advanced wireless connectivity, edge computing and open architectures that will serve as the foundation for all future global communications infrastructure.

About the Role:

The Systems Engineering and Solution Architect for NGS will have technical ownership for overall system architecture, solutions and POCs, including internal and external interfaces. The incumbent will bring a broad and deep systems background in networking, communications, AI/Machine Learning and software to lead overall solution architecture, including technical overview of the entire process and binding all solution components together (ie. AI system architecture and software architecture, etc). As the product system architect, this person will own and translate PRD and POC requirements and to technical requirements and full system architecture.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide feedback into and support of System/Platform product definition and architecture Ensure alignment between customer requirements and system architecture.
  • Close support of Business Development and Product Planning and Management functions including liaison, review, and various task offloads as needed.
  • Interface with product management and marketing, to understand and achieve product and customer messaging alignment and synergies.
  • Leverage a solid understanding of technology and products across the breadth of Intel including strong technical and personal connections with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across Intel and the industry Technology coverage spans end-to-end network, AI and compute solution space including client systems, wireless access and core networks, control and data plane, data center infrastructure SW, NFV and SDN.
  • Expected to have authoritative and credible system and software development and hands-on testing and integration background.

The successful candidate must demonstrate the following:

  • Good intuitive understanding of software, hardware, and systems.
  • Knowledge/experience in access and core networks, cloud/data centers, clients, and applications.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Skills to work with little direction and also to multi-task, handle changing priorities and requirements, and meet aggressive schedules.
  • Skills to make good decisions and execute even when faced with ambiguous or missing requirements.
  • Aptitude and experience working across internal organizational boundaries as well as with external customers and partners.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • Technical expertise in 5G, 4G and Wi-Fi systems and transport (ethernet) networking solutions architecture and integration
  • AI and Machine Learning application into networking
  • Systems engineering, architecture and product development in wireless and transport network engineering and computing
  • Outstanding experience, and a proven track record of on-time and with-quality delivery, in commercial software development in a virtualized environment.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • World-class technical expertise in 5G, 4G and Wi-Fi systems system radio access networks, core and transport (ethernet) network including design and implementation.
  • Direct, hands-on, leadership experience of the design and deployment of commercial 5G and or 4G networks, with specific expertise in network function virtualization and orchestration.
  • Strong knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning neural networks and application into advanced networking modeling, prediction and control.
  • Sound theoretical knowledge of network OSI layers and networking technologies.
  • Information Security
  • Automation and scripting knowledge.


Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an Engineering related field with 10+ years of related experience or masters degree in an Engineering related field with 8+ years of related experience.

Corporate Strategy Office is chartered to support the executive office in driving corporate initiatives, including near and long-term strategy, major cross-group decision making and ensuring cross-company alignment.  To deliver to that mission, the team owns shaping, driving and synthesizing insights to directionally orient trends as well as long range strategic planning/visioning , cross company alignment and greenfield innovation.  Communications are essential to drive alignment so there is a focus on communications, community and acumen development.  The team is ccommitted to ensuring that Intel efforts are aligned to, and actively driving success toward the most impactful business strategies.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
