Job Description

The Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) is seeking a Graduate Research Assistant in the Systems Engineering Research Division (SERD) for fall 2019. The Graduate Research Assistant will work with and under the guidance of GTRI researchers performing one or more of the following activities which will provide a solid foundation for continued development in Systems Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering Research:

  • Programming, Modeling, and Simulation
  • Model Based Systems Engineering
  • Using systems modeling languages/tools (MagicDraw, Cameo, Enterprise Architect, Rational Rhapsody, etc.)

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Master’s degree or PhD at Georgia Tech in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
  • Must be enrolled full-time (12+ credit hours)
  • Must have a 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SysML tools such as MagicDraw, Cameo Systems Modeler, Enterprise Architect, Rational Rhapsody, etc.
  • Experience in Java, C, or python programming languages
  • Knowledge of systems engineering and/or aerospace engineering
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to a non-technical audience

Hours per Week

15–20 hours per week

U.S. Citizenship Requirements

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Ability to obtain Secret Clearance upon hire
