The Test Equipment and Environments Center (TE&EC) is within the Systems Integration & Test directorate at RMD. The Test Equipment and Environments Center (TE&EC) includes all of the engineering disciplines responsible for systems design & test on all Raytheon Missile Defense (RMD) products. Our engineers are responsible for all elements of the development lifecycle for test including: test requirements, test system design, flight simulations, hardware-in-the-loop, computer-in-the-loop, advanced engineering prototyping technology, flight operations for manned and unmanned vehicles, environmental testing, environmental characterization and engineering laboratory management. We are hands-on, designing with the latest technology and tools, and integrate state of the art test solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world.

We are hands-on, designing with the latest technology and tools, and integrate state of the art test solutions with the most advanced engineering systems in the world.
The TE&EC is looking for a Mechanical Drafter with experience designing, developing and integrating mechanical systems.
The individual will be responsible for the design, fabrication, integration, and documentation of mechanical systems for test equipment, test environments and test articles. Their duties include, but are not limited to, design, 3D modeling, drawing development and drawing release of components, fixtures, mechanical assemblies, chassis assemblies, cable assemblies, or/and test environment racks. They will also be required to prepare technical analysis reports and to present in design reviews.
The individual is expected to work in a cross-functional team environment and will contribute during all stages of development of missile test projects. The candidate will be responsible for supporting mechanical tasks and coordinating with other functional areas to ensure the quality and reliability of designed products.
The individual is expected to work in accordance with the Systems Integration and Test directives and processes to perform product design, development, implementation and maintenance.

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance as of day one of employment.

Required Education Skills and Experience:
  • Typically requires a related University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience
  • Four (4) or more years of experience with emphasis in 3D modeling, mechanical design/drafting, drawing/documentation creation and release
  • Two (2) or more years of experience with ProE/Creo Parametric or comparable CAD modeling software
  • Experience applying geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to drawings and designs
  • Previous work experience with Configuration Management processes
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • U.S. Citizenship status

Desired Education Skills and Experience:
  • Six (6) or more years of progressive technical/engineering experience with an emphasis on mechanical design, 3D modeling, and documentation creation and a minimum of an Associates Degree (AS) in Mechanical Drafting, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field
  • Experience with the development, management, and release of drawing packages, including performing drawing reviews and leading drawings through the release process
  • Strong knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing methods
  • Strong expertise in mechanical design and subsystems packaging
  • Strong team player with good interpersonal skills
  • Experience writing technical documentation
  • Self-starter, able to manage personal workload with a demonstrated ability to manage time and resources to meet assigned deadlines
  • Customer oriented and driven to meet or exceed expectations
  • Excellent communication skills/presentation skills and the ability to work cohesively in a diverse environment
  • Familiarity with electrical hardware design
  • Experience with PTC Windchill (Common PDM) or other configuration management application
  • Experience creating engineering estimates for work to be performed
