The Worldwide Developer Relations team is looking for a motivated Technical Investigations Specialist that demonstrates critical thinking with great analytical problem-solving skills, integrity and acute attention to detail, and the willingness to learn new approaches to investigating and analyzing apps. Your focus will be qualifying third-party applications to ensure safety for app users and a place for developers to thrive. Our work fuels the user and developer experiences across iOS, macOS, watchOS and tvOS globally

Key Qualifications

  • App Review experience (minimum of 1 year) and comprehensive knowledge of the App Store Review Guidelines. Proficiency in a foreign language is highly desirable
  • Eagerness to dive-in on technical details of apps (files, network traffic, frameworks, scripts)
  • We value your passion for customer service and your experience supporting customers via phone, e-mail, chat and/or in person
  • Thorough knowledge of iOS and macOS
  • Ability to adjust priorities, manage workload, and thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • You have excellent judgment and integrity with the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Ability to stay focused and prioritize a heavy workload while achieving exceptional quality

Our team is composed of very talented specialists, who are passionate about apps and ensuring the App Store is at its best. We are seeking someone who is meticulous, analytical, displays strong objective analysis, and can thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will be heavily engaged with inventing and adjusting investigation techniques and signal collection, to keep pace with developer trends. You will be asked to evaluate third-party applications based on guidelines and policies, to provide technical feedback to software developers when appropriate, and to suggest (TI) business improvements as they relate to the detection of guideline violations, technical investigations, and workflows
- Our specialists demonstrate excellence in determining whether apps are reliable, perform as expected, and are free of offensive material.
- We review every app submitted based on a set of technical, content, and design criteria.
- We'll train you to be an expert in understanding, supporting, and improving the Technical Investigations process.
- We look for great teammates who are able to make decisions and recommendations quickly in an ambiguous environment while under time constraints and pressure.
- You are a self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team and remains flexible to the needs of the business.
- You are a creative and curious individual who is not afraid to question assumptions.
- Ability to communicate clearly and provide feedback to third-party developers, as well as to our cross-functional partners, is essential.

- You have a level of resilience and maturity, as you will come across various mediums and be exposed to potentially disturbing content (abuse, violence, gore, sexual)

Education & Experience

BA/BS in computer science, information security, information systems or relevant work experience

Additional Requirements

  • - Flexible to work overtime including weekends and holidays, with the possibility to flex up or down hours depending upon business needs
  • - Rotational on-call status required
