The Intel Optane Group (IOG), within the Data Center and Artificial Intelligence group (DCAI), is responsible for the development and commercial success of the Intel Optane technology including Optane SSDs and Optane persistent memory. Our customer engagement team has an opportunity for an engineer to lead customer enabling and solutions development activities of OOB Manageability for our current and future products. You will work with other teams in DCAI to coordinate development and integration of manageability and telemetry solutions based on the requirements provided. You will track the associated deliverables throughout the product development life cycle process. You will have the opportunity to initiate and contribute to overall design and development of new ideas and products, and impact company's revenue by helping customers launch their products on time.
In addition to planned customer enabling activities aligned with the product life cycle, you will actively engage with customer design and validation teams and respond to customer requests or events as they occur. Your work on developing solutions to internal and customer needs, will utilize and develop solid technical skills and formal education and judgment. This is a customer facing role.

Your main responsibilities will include a mix of:

• Own the customer enabling and support of OOB Manageability features and functions for Optane products.
• Participate in design, engineering and execution forums tracking design and development status of the OOB Manageability software support through the entire development life cycle of the device.
• Coordinate customer enabling with relevant status and delivery updates for the Optane products' OOB Manageability software support and collateral required for customer integration.
• Create relevant OOB technical documents such as white papers, datasheets, sightings/errata reports etc.
• Collect customer requirements related to OOB Manageability of Optane based product solutions and coordinate needed internal activities for successful completion.
• Use key learnings as customer input to influence product definitions and enhance the OOB Manageability use of future Optane products.
• Participate and drive innovative proofs of concepts and use cases independently and/or in partnership with customers.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate:

• Strong evidence of influencing and internal/external customer orientation skills.
• Proven verbal and written communication skills.
• Successfully create clear and concise collateral, such as integration and usage guides or feature white papers, enabling effectively the customer adoption of Intel's products.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Requirements
The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.

3+ years of experience in System Out Of Band (OOB) with a combination of 1 of the following areas:

• Hardware or firmware development.
• Validation or technical customer enabling.
• Server/workstation component product design.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
2+ years of experience in the following areas

• System manageability and telemetry architectures and related interfaces such as SMBUS based I2C and I3C, PECI, MCTP, PLDM, IPMI etc.
• OpenBMC or other BMC ecosystems and associated software tools used for OOB management of server platform components, including memory and storage devices.
• Redfish and other DMTF/industry manageability standards.
• Usage of server SW and HW debug and test environments/tools for checking and proofing manageability/telemetry transports and features.
• Debugging techniques and tools i.e.: ITP, Python, CScripts or similar, electrical validation tools for high speed I/O.

$113,210.00-$187,350.00
