Technical Project Manager-Threat Intelligence Sensor Systems (Experienced)

We are seeking outstanding technical project leads to join our multidisciplinary team to lead the development of new remote unattended sensor systems\. We seek talented, passionate individuals who work well with teams, are motivated by contributing to the national security mission, and have interest in leading projects and teams to deliver advanced technologies to OGA partners to achieve impactful, relevant national security mission goals\. A typical system is microprocessor controlled and contains various sensors \(radiation, magnetic, acoustic, seismic, temperature, pressure\), electronics and communication links\. Important features of these systems are ultra\-low power, high\-performance and the capability to operate in a wide range of environmental conditions\. Departments 5873/5877/5879 partner with each other and matrix with other Sandia organizations to tackle the full system lifecycle of a technical project from concept, design, and fabrication to development testing, performance verification and support of delivered products\. You will be considered to fill positions in one of three departments \- 5873/5877/5879 \- depending on your strengths, experience and current program needs\. Leadership and travel opportunities are available, as well as engagement and collaboration to build strategic sponsor partnerships\.

+ Bachelors and Advanced \(Masters or PhD\) degree in relevant science, technology, engineering or mathematics \(STEM\) discipline; OR a Bachelors in STEM and 4 years relevant experience\.

+ In addition to the education requirement above, two or more years experience leading technical projects\.

+ Current Q clearance and ability to satisfy SCI access and polygraph requirements\.


+ Active SCI clearance\.

+ Knowledge and experience with designing, planning and executing projects\.

+ Experience in program leadership and/or systems engineering of Strategic Partnering Program \(SPP\) and Strategic Partnering Intelligence Program \(SIPP\) projects\.

+ Applying risk\-based approaches to evaluate rigor level of product qualification activities\.

+ Design assurance acumen, including requirements engineering and configuration management\.

+ Ability to solve complex problems in the absence of clear direction \(experience in ambiguous environments\)\.

+ Knowledge and experience designing embedded software systems\.

+ Familiarity with radiation, acoustic, imaging or other sensing technologies\.

+ Experience in designing to withstand harsh environments and environmental testing\.

+ Demonstrated ability to implement high\-quality standards while establishing and maintaining effective and productive relationships with internal and external partners at all experience and authority levels\.

Department Description:

The Systems Technologies Department supports sensor development and analysis efforts for U\.S\. Government sponsors\. The scope of work in the Department ranges from research of new capabilities, the development of novel sensing systems, to feasibility studies and signature analysis\.

Security Clearance:

Position requires a SCI security clearance\.

Position requires a Department of Energy \(DOE\) granted Q\-level security clearance and SCI clearance, which may require a polygraph test\.

Sandia is required by DOE directive to conduct a pre\-employment drug testing, and a pre\-employment background review that includes personal reference checks, law enforcement record and credit checks, and employment and education verifications\. Applicants for employment must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q\-level security clearance, which requires U\.S\. citizenship and SCI clearance, which may require a polygraph test\.
