Job Description


This posting is for a Technology Development Operations Research Engineer position in Assembly Test Technology Development (ATTD) Capacity Integration.

This team is responsible for developing MOR (model-of-record) for various segments of Intel's supply chain that are used to plan and optimize Intel's Virtual Factory (VF) network.

This includes developing mathematical equipment run rate capacity models, supporting ramp and end-of-life plans, developing and implementing total cost of ownership continuous improvement projects, applying advanced operations research skills such as optimization, heuristics, algorithms, and simulation to model and optimize Intel's supply chain and manufacturing network, and more.

The engineer will need to keep up to date of the latest technology changes and implications to how we manage our manufacturing strategy.

Operations Research Engineers design, develop, and apply engineering, mathematical models, simulation and optimization models to drive solutions to complex manufacturing and supply chain problems.

Identify and solves highly complex problems in factory performance, loading, equipment performance, decision science and, supply and distribution network problems.

Require a through understanding of the factory (Fab and A/T) environment and supply chain knowledge to develop complex engineering models and apply them to identify and drive solutions.

Build, develop, validate and apply mathematically based decision algorithms, heuristics, optimization and simulation models and tools.

Work closely with the business units to identify root causes, define the strategic and tactical needs and drive the appropriate business and technical solutions.

Develop solutions to problems utilizing formal technical training, business knowledge and judgment.

The ideal candidate must be willing to spend time on the manufacturing floor for periods of time to develop module knowledge and collect data through observations and perform periodic work in a clean room environment wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, and gloves in addition to work in the office and at home as a hybrid employee, along with working in a matrix environment.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree with 3+ years of experience or Master's Degree with 2+ years of experience or PhD Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Engineering Management, or any other related discipline.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Data collection, organization, analysis, manipulation.
  • Experience with Project/program management involving large groups of stakeholders.
  • Experience presenting complex data and conclusions to diverse groups of stakeholders.
  • Experience with semiconductor manufacturing and technical knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes.
  • Skill in using the following tools: SQL, Python, Power BI, CPLEX, JMP, Excel, Visual Basic, Javascript.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
