Intel Federal and Assembly Test Technology Development (ATTD) is looking for an experienced Operations Research Industrial Engineer to work on design of advanced semiconductor packaging factories. This position is ideal for the generalist IE who enjoys all facets of factory design including defining the optimal factory layout and equipment capacity required to meet Intel's production demand on new technology nodes.
Responsibilities include:
- Apply engineering, mathematical models, simulation, and optimization models to drive solutions to complex manufacturing and supply chain problems.
- Plan plant production facilities and equipment layouts.
- Determine the most efficient sequence of operations/workflow.
- Establish methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel.
- Develop metrics to measure equipment and factory capacity and output.
- Identify equipment and process flow bottlenecks.
- Conduct detailed studies by gathering analyzing and interpreting data to drive results pertaining to cost control, cost reduction, capacity expansion, and production systems. Based on these studies develop and implement capacity and layout plans to meet requirements for multiple new technology nodes.
- Work extensively with the process engineering teams to analyze process technology change impacts and develop cost optimized recommendations.
- Deliver efficiency improvements, continuously drive innovations, and develop solution to problems utilizing formal education and judgement.
- Spend extended periods of time on the manufacturing floor to collect data thru observations.
This position
involves work on a U.S. Government contract which may impose
certain security
requirements:

Qualifications
Minimum
qualifications are required to be initially considered for this
position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum
requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top
candidates.
Minimum
Qualifications:
- Candidate must possess a Bachelors Degree with 4+ years' experience, or Masters Degree with 3+ years' experience or PhD degree with 1+ years of experience in Industrial Engineering or related field.
3+ years of experience in the following:
- Fundamentals of MOR capital planning, capacity models, factory equipment layout, and workflow.
- Data collection, data organization, data queries, statistical design and analysis tools such as Excel, PowerBI, Tableau, R, Python, JMP, VBA, SQL, Power Query.
- Knowledge applying at least one scripting language such as VBA, SQL, R, Python, etc.
Preferred
Qualifications:
1+ years of experience in the following:
- Experience using the AT ICS MOR system.
- Semiconductor facility layout experience.
- Data visualization applications Power BI, Tableau, Excel, AtRisk, JMP, etc.
- Database usage and data mining.
- Business process mapping and/or systems thinking.
- Time studies.
- Equipment capacity modeling and/or simulation.
- Constraint identification.
- Operations research and/or simulation.

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
