Job Description

This is an entry level position and compensation will be given accordingly.


Operations Research Engineers design, develop, and apply engineering, mathematical models, simulation and optimization models to drive solutions to complex manufacturing and supply chain problems.

Identify and solves highly complex problems in factory performance, loading, equipment performance, decision science and, supply and distribution network problems.

Require a thorough understanding of the factory (Fab and A/T) environment and supply chain knowledge to develop complex engineering models and apply them to identify and drive solutions.

Build, develop, validate and apply mathematically based decision algorithms, heuristics, optimization and simulation models and tools. Work closely with the business units to identify root causes, define the strategic and tactical needs and drive the appropriate business and technical solutions.

Develop solutions to problems utilizing formal technical training, business knowledge and judgment.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. 

Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess a Masters Degree with 6+ months of experience in Industrial Engineering or other related engineering field.

6+ months experience in the following:

  • Factory equipment layout, workflow, operating models and capacity planning.
  • Microsoft Excel and macros or scripts for and data mining statistics analysis.
  • Experience applying at least one scripting language such as VBA, SQL, R, Python, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

6+ months experience in one or more of the following:

  • Data visualization applications Power BI, Tableau, Excel, AtRisk, JMP, etc.
  • Database usage and data mining.
  • Business process mapping and/or systems thinking.
  • Time studies.
  • Equipment capacity modeling and/or simulation.
  • Constraint identification.
  • Operations research and/or simulation.

Must have the required degree or expect the required degree by Dec 2022.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
