The UNC Charlotte Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor starting in Fall 2020. Candidates are sought in control systems with interest in linear/non-linear control theory with application to robotics, autonomous systems, intelligent systems, and embedded systems. Exceptional candidates in related areas are encouraged to apply.

Candidates should be committed to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, development of sponsored research programs, supervision of student research, and academic services. Priority will be given to candidates having original and promising research as demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications, potential for success in extramural funding, and a plan for future research that integrates well with existing department strengths. A Ph.D. degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent is required for candidates hired at the Assistant Professor or the Associate Professor level. Hires at the rank of an Associate Professor are also expected to have demonstrated success in receiving extramural research funding, as well as demonstrated success in the progression of graduate students.

The ECE department offers B.S. degrees in both Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees, with approximately 700 undergraduate and 200 graduate students; see http://ece.uncc.edu.
