The Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at Portland State University seeks outstanding candidates for a tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. We are especially interested in outstanding candidates with expertise in areas of electric power systems research such as cyber-physical power systems, power system data science, power systems cybersecurity, and distributed power systems modeling. Strong candidates in other power related areas may also be considered.


The successful applicant will develop and maintain impactful scholarly funded research; develop coursework relevant to their research field; teach undergraduate and graduate courses; advise students; and, provide service to the university, professional societies, and the public. Candidates should have a strong passion for undergraduate and graduate education, and demonstrate an enthusiasm about collaborating with colleagues throughout the university and globally. A Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, or related field, is required. Candidates who are ABD (All But Dissertation) will be considered, but must have received their degree prior to the start date of employment. 

The Electrical & Computer Engineering Department serves a diverse population of students including military veterans, community colleges transfers, students with prior work experience, and international students from around the world. The Department offers ABET-accredited B.S. degree programs in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, as well as M.S. and Ph.D. programs.
