The Department of Mechanical, Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering (MIME) at The University of Toledo (UT) is seeking outstanding scholars and educators to fill multiple fulltime, tenure-track faculty positions beginning fall 2020. Preferred areas of interest include systems engineering, robotics, intelligent systems, advanced manufacturing and advanced materials. Successful candidates will develop and sustain an externally funded research program, teach and develop undergraduate and graduate courses and laboratories, supervise graduate student research, engage in scholarly and professional service activities, and support diversity.

The department currently has 19 tenure-track or tenured faculty members and more than 1000 undergraduate and graduate students pursuing BS, MS, and Ph.D. degrees. The MIME department’s research areas also include additive manufacturing, biomechanics, computational fluid mechanics, fatigue and fracture, manufacturing processes, MEMS, multifunctional materials, nanotechnology, rotor dynamics, smart materials, and tribology. The MIME faculty, in collaboration with faculty in the College of Medicine and Life Sciences, has a long history of externally funded research and entrepreneurship. College of Engineering includes two research centers, the Engineering Center for Orthopaedic Research Excellence and the Center for Materials and Sensor Characterization. Additionally, the College of Engineering has a long history of collaboration with regional automotive, energy, and glass industries, as well as the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
