Intel Sort Test Technology Development is a central test technology research and development group that develops leading-edge low-cost test solutions to enable the full spectrum of Intel's product portfolio. We are seeking a talented and experienced candidate to join our Module Capability Development Group to develop cutting edge technology and solutions to meet test demands for the advanced packages on Intel roadmap.

In this engineering leadership position, the candidate will assess future product needs and test flow across back-end test modules to identify the test capability and equipment gaps and define a solution strategy and drive research and development agenda which could span across several teams/organizations. The candidate will work closely with other technology development teams, Intel product teams, and test factories as well as external suppliers to develop new capability and equipment in response to the increasing product test demands.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Performing research and development on automated test equipment, including necessary mechanical, robotics, and thermal systems
- Innovating disruptive ideas, selecting IP, making proposals, defining and executing proof of concepts (POC).
- Setting development goals and a capability roadmap in close partnership with Factory and partner organizations and prioritizing based on total business value.
- Driving test equipment development with suppliers and managing schedule and deliverables
- Developing validation plans for test equipment and driving High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) qualification of new test capabilities to demonstrate performance in time to meet Intel product and manufacturability needs.
- Working through other teams to deliver the complete solutions including software, tester, and other electrical/mechanical components

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position.
Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

- Candidate must possess a bachelor's degree with 6+ years of relevant experience or master's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience or PhD degree with 2+ years of relevant experience in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or any related field.
- 3+ years of experience in hardware or equipment design.

Preferred qualifications:

3+ years of experience in the following:

- Semi-conductor testing.
- Equipment design and development.
- IC test, process development, device testing methods.
- High-volume manufacturing.
- Electronics design or product development.
- Test process/capability validation.
- Lab equipment usage.
- Electrical calibration methods and methodology.
- Basic CAD knowledge, i.e. Solidworks or similar software.
- Mechanical modeling and use of modeling in decision making.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
