The Thermal Mechanical Systems Engineering (TMSE) team within the Client Computing Group (CCG) is responsible for all platform-level thermal and mechanical solutions for Client computers. Our job is to own a product from concept phase all the way to customer enabling and everything in-between. We solve deep technical challenges by developing and implementing new innovative thermal and mechanical solutions to enable Intel processors to be easily and inexpensively adopted in our customers platforms, while enabling the highest performance possible. We are now looking for a highly motivated Thermal- Mechanical Architect to join this dynamic and innovative team .
As Thermal-Mechanical Architect your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Researching, recommending, specifying document technology for platforms in support of organization's strategic vision.
Translating business/customer requirements into platform architecture encompassing hardware, software, SoCs and other components designed to support a variety of systems, solutions and applications.
Designing, developing, and analyzing overall platform architecture and partitioning between hardware and software to meet use cases and workloads in terms of performance, scalability, manageability, reliability, and security requirements.
Leading architectural governance and decisions related to product technology and platform tradeoffs as part of a cross functional architecture decision group.
Providing technical direction for platform, SoC and component design activities. Influencing the shaping of future products/solutions by significantly contributing to the architecture and technology employed throughout the compute continuum.
Providing multilayered technical expertise for next generation initiatives.
As a successful candidate, you must possess:

Qualifications
Minimum
qualifications are required to be initially considered for this
position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum
requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top
candidates.

Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or STEM related degree with 3+ years experience solving thermal and mechanical challenges in the electronics industry
2+ years of experience in thermal analysis
2+ years of experience in mechanical design
Preferred
Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related degree with 2+ years experience solving thermal and mechanical challenges in the electronics industry
Deep technical knowledge and experience with analyzing and designing thermal solutions for PCs
Understanding and knowledge of manufacturing processes and constraints for Client Computers including cost and HVM constraints.
Experience managing projects with a broad range of stakeholders
The Client Computing Group (CCG) is responsible for driving business strategy and product development for Intel's PC products and platforms, spanning form factors such as notebooks, desktops, 2 in 1s, all in ones. Working with our partners across the industry, we intend to continue to advance PC experiences to deliver the real-world performance people demand. As the largest business unit at Intel, CCG is investing more heavily in the PC, ramping its capabilities even more aggressively, and designing the PC experience even more deliberately, including delivering a predictable cadence of leadership products.
