The Sustainability
Program Office in Intel's Software and Advanced Technology Group
exists to incubate and support initiatives that make sustainable
engineering core to Intel's cultural transformation. As awareness
of sustainability and the ecological impact of computing grows, our
team serves as a center of expertise and a catalyst for colleagues
and the industry at large to set and scale requirements for new
standards in product design, in line with Intel's broader corporate
responsibility goals.
We seek an accomplished user
experience designer to complement our growing team of researchers
and technologists and be the voice of the developer for key
projects. As a UX/DX designer in SATG, you will work alongside UX
researchers, strategists, SW and HW architects, synthesizing market
trends and research findings, and creating actionable material that
enlists engineers and product owners in the work of building an
energy efficient, durable computing future. You will document and
communicate sustainability principles in ways that can be used and
understood by technical teams and business owners alike, from
personas to workflows, concepts to use cases. Benefiting from
Intel's strong tradition of social science research and UX design,
and partnering with Intel Labs, the Open.Intel office, and other
cross-Intel product teams, this role will be a growth opportunity
for someone seeking to make an impact in industry.
As a UX
designer you will:
- Create design collateral for personas based on research (eg create a persona description, or document a day in the life)
- Create usage descriptions and documents to explain and show experiences (usage flows, user journeys, interaction flows etc) based on research
- Create simple prototypes of new experiences either individually or partnering with vendors/ collaborators
- Conduct various research activities at better understanding the needs, expectations, aspirations, and friction points of intended users, developers, or customers
- Work with architects, engineers, program managers and researchers to illustrate concepts and educate
- Follow emerging trends in the Open SW/HW ecosystem especially focused on sustainability innovation
- Present ideas and design concepts to senior management and customers
- Build strong relationships with teams inside and outside of SATG to champion user experience and compelling products for a changed climate
Qualifications
You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork, classes, research and or relevant previous job and or internship experiences. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Masters in Interaction Design, HCI, Psychology or similar design field
- 3+ years of experience in UX Design
- Strong UX design skills. Portfolio showing a range of methods which may include personas, scenarios, user journeys, wireframes, use cases
- Certification or demonstrated professional interest in design for sustainability
This position is not eligible for an intel immigration sponsorship.
Preferred qualifications:
- 6+ years of experience in UX Design
- Experience leading developer research, focused on SW
- Experience with development of design processes and/or documentation
- Experience working with external design companies

Annual Salary
Range for jobs which could be performed in US,
Colorado:
$148,930.00-$238,410.00

Work Model for this Role
This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.
