Visiting Assistant Professor or Visiting Assistant College Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Cleveland State University invites applicants for a visiting assistant professor or visiting assistant college lecturer position. The position is for the 2018-2019 academic year, with possibility for a 1-year renewal.

Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses in the areas of Manufacturing, Mechanical Design, and/or general engineering. The successful candidate will be required to teach four courses of 3 or 4 credit hours per semester. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors and Master's degrees in Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field, experience in teaching undergraduate engineering courses in the area of Mechanical Design and Manufacturing, experience in teaching laboratory courses, effective communications skills, industry experience, and the ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity, cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community.

Appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor requires a Doctoral degree.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering offers doctoral and master's degrees and ABET-accredited bachelor's degrees. Faculty areas of expertise include machine system design, robotics, biomechanics, manufacturing, automation, thermal/fluids and energy systems.
