The Vice President, Analytics and Machine Learning will oversee the architecture, product development, deployment and operational support for ADP's Analytics products. The main product is a set of metrics, projections, user interfaces and tools that provide insights across the human capital space, including the domain areas of human resources, compensation, employee engagement, talent management, benefits and others. These analytics are provided in concert with ADP's software and service platforms for medium, enterprise and multi-national organizations, both as dashboards and embedded within core business processes. At the core of the system is a data and analytical platform which enables alignment across the complete scope of ADP's 700,000+ customers.

 

The VP Analytics will work in concert with other leaders/domains within ADP DataCloud, including Data Science & Platform, Reporting and Product Management to ensure that customers have the complete view of information they need for decision making. They must ensure that the current system is operationally robust and continue to innovate and improve the products based on emerging customer and business requirements, and emerging technology.

 

The role will lead approx. 50% of the DataCloud overall technical efforts, with products >$50M in revenue heading to $100M by end 2022. To accomplish, the person will direct the functional efforts of a team of developers, business analysts, DBA's, product assurance engineers, and consultants. They will act as senior partner and IT representative with Product Marketing, Sales, Service, and many ADP's senior managers around the company

 

Success will be shared by teams, but this role will be incented to build, field and support the Analytics to the revenue target in a SaaS experience, with low customer churn (<10%).

 

Product Description

 

The Data Cloud Analytics product offering has several components:

 

  • An analytics offering that will allow clients to view and interact with their data to make business decisions
  • Benchmarking capabilities that will allow clients to compare themselves to companies similar to them (by revenue, by size, by geography)
  • Predictive models that allow clients to make future business decisions based on the unique fingerprint of their organization
  • Prescriptive models that make recommendations for customers based on changes or projections of their data.
  • The ability to integrate other sources into the ADP DataCloud to allow clients to see how HCM affects sales, revenue, and other related business functions.
  • Ability to embed metrics and prescriptive models into other ADP software systems, including HCM and Payroll systems.

 

The Data Cloud Analytics product is going through significant expansion and development. Among the goals for the product set include:

 

  • Expansion of core capabilities including multiple HR and data source management
  • Inclusion of predictive analytics and machine learning components for both advice and automated actions
  • Movement to public cloud infrastructure of the complete suite of Applications
  • Deployment and support of Global and Multi-national corporate needs
  • Expansion of reporting capabilities to support national and multinational business and statutory reporting needs, at high volumes.
  • Continued iteration and leadership of User Experience components, both as independent product and embedded/enabled within other ADP product offerings

 

 

 

 

Experience

 

Base experience should include:

 

  • 15+ years of commercial product/service software development and management, leading teams >100 people to produce commercial software products or software as a service (SaaS) solutions.
  • Specific experience in building analytic applications or suites, including conventional business intelligence, marketing analytics, business analytics or consumer analytics.
  • Hands on experience and development using Star or Snowflake schema based systems.
  • Experience with big data technologies including Spark, machine learning, python/R, Hadoop, NoSQL, in-Memory caches (ex: Druid, Redis).
  • Experience with Cloud first (AWS .ami) or Cloud Native development and deployment.
  • Experience with loosely coupled design principles, including API based integration and interoperability (ex: Mulesoft, SnapLogic experience)
  • Experience with Search technologies (Lucene, SOLR, ElasticSearch)
  • Leadership experience in design or product architecture, demonstrated by participating in award winning or industry analyst recognized products.
  • Experience in running or being part of distributed/multi-national development team.
  • Some experience in product management or field engineering/sales engineering.
  • Recognized expert in Analytics, Business Intelligence or Data Science, demonstrated via conference proceedings, news coverage or other awards.
