We are looking for a talented VPI Reliability Engineer to join our Cummins Turbo Technologies team in Columbus, Indiana, U.S. (Hybrid)

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Applies and improves processes such as quantitative reliability analysis and failure reporting and corrective action systems and tools required to support the processes.
  • Delivers plans to meet critical reliability deliverables to new product development leadership.
  • Makes decisions in the areas of product problem prevention, detection and correction that impact overall new product reliability.
  • Having a background with analysis tools is preferred, including Minitab, Weibull, ANOVA, or JMP, along with experience in methods involving completion of DFMEAs, FRACAS, and DOE.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities, such as:

  • Obtains input and negotiates with new product technical and core teams and delivers plans to meet critical reliability deliverables to new product development leadership.
  • Delivers independent execution of established and emerging work processes and systems, while still developing technology or product knowledge.
  • Provides support and guidance to influence technical direction within a project team and continues to develop proficiency in the competency areas critical to success in the role.
  • The individual will act as liaison between Customer and CTT product Engineering to execute technical requirements and collaborate in the development of effective solutions for any issues that arise.

Skills

  • Quantitative Reliability Analysis - Analyzes failure data from existing and/or new products by establishing failure rate models for use in assessing the feasibility of meeting reliability targets, comparing the reliability of product alternatives, estimating reliability and product coverage costs, identifying emerging issues, or verifying that improvements implemented have had the desired reliability improvement.
  • Product Problem Solving - Solves product problems using a process that protects the customer; determines the assignable cause; implements robust, data-based solutions; and identifies the systemic root causes and recommended actions to prevent problem reoccurrence.
  • Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.
  • Manages complexity - Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in relevant work experience

Compensation and Benefits

Base salary rate commensurate with experience.
