Job Description

The Client Validation Team in iVE is responsible for validating functional correctness of Intel products by developing best in class engineers and driving end-to-end validation on client SOC products, elevating the Intel brand and enabling product delivery with higher quality through better focused scope, velocity and efficiency to enable to do more.

The PnP team is specifically focused on validating and optimizing the battery life and performance of these SOC products. For this position, we are looking for individuals who are familiar with the Vision Processing Unit. Willing to develop test cases to validate the VPU interface o the SOC, identify bottlenecks and optimize the IP. Willing to use the Intel Open Vino framework to create test cases for validating the VPU on the SOC is a plus.

Responsibilities of the role include, although not limited to:

  • Drive the overall team technical direction in validation test development, data analysis, and benchmark analysis/selection.

  • Analyze system performance bottlenecks and quantify performance/power tradeoffs.

  • Bridge deltas between ideal model numbers vs. versus real life implementation in an actual production environment.

  • Use and apply platform level tools and techniques to ensure performance to specifications.

  • Development of methodologies execution of validation plans and debug of failures.

  • Broad understanding of multiple system areas and interfacing with architecture design and pre-silicon validation teams in improving post-silicon test content and providing feedback for future on die debug features.

  • Demonstrate success in communicating plans status issues and concerns.

  • Test planning execution monitoring and reporting test results.

  • Collaboration with cross functional HW and SW team to solve complex issues and improve efficiency.

  • Frontline and drive schedules and issues to closure in high complex scenarios.

  • Deal with customer issues.

  • Make judgment calls regarding customer deliverables and program level risk assessment from a power and performance standpoint.


Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidate must possess either a Bachelors' degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering and 4+ years of experience in:

-OR-

Masters' degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering and 3+ years of experience in:

-OR-

PhD in Electrical/Computer Engineering and 1+ years of experience in:

  • Intel Open Vino Inference Framework Movidius VPU or any Neural Compute Engine hardware and software.

  • Industry-standard APIs as OpenCL , Windows ML or DX12Sufficient knowledge of computer architecture concepts such as pipelining, caching, parallel computing with SIMD/VLIW, multi-core/multi-threading, data precision, memory hierarchy.

  • Post-silicon validation using test equipment computer systems and test stations.

  • Software development with scripting languages such as Python, C and/or PerlAnalog electronics.

  • Computer system architecture.

  • Use of electronic lab test equipment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in/with:

  • Knowledge of AI framework, AI models and basic neural computing operations is highly preferred.

  • CPU microarchitectural and/or high-speed bus protocol.

  • Design verification or validation disciplines system platform level debug and root cause isolation methodology and tools.

  • Power measurement and debug tools.

  • Deep technical knowledge in performance and power management including understanding of architecture and microcode sufficient to understand potential power and performance impacts of changes.

  • Industry benchmarks which aspects of performance they measure and competitive analysis from previous gen products.
