What Your Job Will Be Like:



The W87-1 program is currently seeking a Risk Manager (job title: Project Manager) to join our team.



This role will be responsible for collaborating with risk owners in developing risks and opportunities; quantifying the risk/opportunity schedule and cost impacts; tracking risk mitigation activities, maintaining the programs risk register; leading risk review boards; partnering with other risk managers at our partner sites (LLNL, KCNSC, Pantex, Sandia Production, LANL, Y12, and Savanah River Site); collaborating with our NNSA and Air Force (AF) customers, and partnering in risk and opportunity reporting and communications. The Risk Manager would work closely with Systems Leads, PRT Leads, Scheduling Leads, Finance Leads, and management for risk development and approval. In addition, the Risk Manager would maintain and implement the program’s Risk and Opportunity Management Plan (ROMP).



On any given day, you may be called on to:





+ Participate in customer meetings



+ Develop and present briefings



+ Develop, quantify, assess, and brief project risks and opportunities



+ Manage action items and deliverables



+ Facilitate collaboration and cross-functional integration



+ Develop and lead programmatic processes





Qualifications We Require:





+ Bachelor's degree in Business or other relevant field plus five or more years of experience in Project Management; or Master's degree in relevant field plus one or more years of experience in Project Management



+ Experience with standard project management practices (and subject matter expertise in some), such as project plan development, integration management, scope management, project scheduling, cost estimation and management, quality assurance, resource management, communications planning and management, risk and opportunity management, and procurement management



+ Proficiency in tools and applications commonly employed in project management activities



+ Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance





Qualifications We Desire:





+ Knowledge and background in Nuclear Weapons Product Realization Process.



+ Experience in transitioning complex products from development into production. Knowledge of Design & Production Sites/Responsibilities within the Nuclear Security Enterprise.



+ Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.



+ Ability to make decisions requiring scientific or engineering judgment.



+ Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to successfully plan, organize, lead, and monitor team efforts to completion.



+ Ability to effectively prioritize and complete tasks in a high-pressure environment.





About Our Team:



The W87-1 Project Management departments are responsible for providing Project Management expertise to the W87-1 Modification Program system team at Sandia National Laboratories. The departments are also an integral part of the Division 8000 Nuclear Deterrence (ND) Project Management Office (PMO). The ND Programs are responsible for assuring the safety, reliability and security of U.S. nuclear weapons, enabling the defense of our nation through our nuclear strategic deterrent. This team partners with the System Engineering team and provides knowledge of PM methodologies and tools to enable the technical line organizations to perform, oversee, and execute the scope for the W87-1.
