Join the Emerging Systems Lab/Telecom Systems Research (ESL/TSR) in Intel Labs, an innovative group researching and prototyping advanced network concepts or workloads, e.g., programmable networks, Private 5G Networks, 5G telecom infrastructure, 6G, and system architecture to run these workloads onto high volume Intel Architecture (IA) platforms through a combination of software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions (NFs) in Cloud Native environments.
We are looking for highly motivated software architect with hands-on development experience in networking and system knowledge. Knowledge of cellular network architecture and protocol is a plus and/or familiarity with efficient packet processing framework like DPDK or FD-IO VPP in cloud environments.
In this role you will be required to research, architect, develop workloads and/or system features and collaborate with internal and/or external partners in the academic community or industry consortiums to bring advanced networking concepts, system design and workloads to life.
Qualifications
You must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences
Minimum Qualifications:
- The candidate must possess a Masters degree ( with 4+ years experience ) or PhD degree ( with 2+ years experience) in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
2+ years experience in below areas:
- System software, Linux, proficient in C/C++, Python
- Cellular network architecture and protocols
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of efficient packet processing framework, e.g., DPDK, as well as understanding of Intel platform architecture, virtualization, container a plus.
- Experience with machine learning, deep learning algorithms a plus
- Work in ambiguous technical environments and collaborate with open-source communities

Annual Salary
Range for jobs which could be performed in US,
Colorado:
$132,940.00-$199,800.00

Work Model for this Role
This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
