The Retail Online team is looking for a senior leader to run our Online Operations team which holds a unique position, bridging eCommerce business requirements with operational expertise. In this role, you will work cross functionally with Product Management, Online Merchandising and Demand Generation, Marketing, MarCom, Engineering and Operations to provide differentiated and scalable e-commerce experiences across all direct segments and platforms in 38 countries and 28 languages, reporting directly to the head of Retail Online.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience building and running high-performance, global teams and shaping a multi-year strategy in support of business goals. They will also have prior experience delivering technical and process solutions to complex problems.

Key Qualifications

  • 15-20 years of experience (5+ in senior leadership) with a deep, background in digital publishing strategy, delivery and technology in an fast-paced, global eCommerce environment.
  • Strong vision for technology, ensuring that it is leveraged in the most effective and innovative ways
  • Substantive platformcom, app, eCommerce and emerging technology experience, with various software development methodologies
  • Experience with program and product management functions for transactional web sites.
  • Proven ability to build a new team structure and manage the associated change.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a portfolio of projects and utilizing resources (PMs/BAs) effectively.
  • Experience managing teams across multiple regions (EMEIA, APAC, AMR).
  • Solid understanding of project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle.
  • You are an enthusiastic leader who can motivate, inspire, and lead a team through ambiguous situations.
  • You are assertive, action oriented, goal driven, decisive, self assured, daring
  • You are hands on, supporting your teams by understanding and guiding the end to end interactive process
  • You are detail oriented, responsible for implementation with strong process definition

  • This role will manage up to four teams and will be expected to work in the detail as an individual to operate effectively with a wide range of functional disciplines and management levels.

Description

This is a critical role with a wide range of strategic and tactical responsibilities, including:

Managing New Product Introduction Plans of Record across all Online teams from pre-planning thru war-room launch activities, ensuring 100% confidentiality and flawless execution.
Leading all aspects Content Management and Publishing activities across all relevant Apple Retail systems and Online Store Releases and Campaigns, driving quality performance and optimization thru continuous process improvement, team building and individual development. Key Digital Content Management functions include: Project Management, Localization Management, Workflow Definition, Web Development, Content Programming, Product Catalog Management, and Validation.
Owning the workflow for the entire lifecycle of Apple Retail's content and content meta-data, from product launch thru its lifecycle, showing great attention to detail.
Managing process maps, project scopes, and standard operating procedures, including delivery specifications for content partners to ensure content is distributed across all platforms according to the specifications.
Providing Retail Online operational support in AMR, EMEIA and APAC, to ensure issues impacting the customer experience are quickly triaged and resolved, e.g., pricing, promotions, and unexpected systems and process execution issues.
Setting functional KPIs and ensuring there are tools and metrics to measure the efficiency of each goal.
Adhering to compliance standards set by executive leadership, legal, and best practices.
Building and continuously improving reporting capabilities to reflect on the current status of work.
Collaborating with Product Management and Engineering to define and develop long-term system roadmaps in support of Content Management, Digital Asset Management, Merchandising needed to scale the business.

Education & Experience

BA/BS required
MBA or Masters in related field preferred
Project Management certification a plus
